The structure does not change. Only the mask changes.
Each civilization encodes the same invariant in its cosmology:
a god who requires the consumption of generative life to sustain order.
The Mesopotamians called it Tiamat's hunger. The Egyptians called it Apep.
The Greeks called it Kronos. Rome called it Saturn. The Semites encoded it
in the firstborn sacrifice to El-Yahweh-Moloch. The modern world calls it
geopolitics. The children are always the same children.
The stomach is always the same stomach.

What Changes
The substrate changes every 500–1500 years. Grain → wood → coal → oil.
The name of the god changes with each culture contact event.
The ritual form changes — from literal child-burning at the Tophet
to metaphorical sacrifice via conscription and resource war.
The visibility of the accounting decreases over time.
The Bronze Age at least performed the calculation openly at an altar.
What Does Not Change
The equation: generative life must be destroyed to sustain
the energy-surplus system that constitutes order.
The prophecy structure: the god knows the child will overthrow it,
and devours preemptively. Every war is this. The soldier knows.
The cosmological justification: without the sacrifice, chaos returns.
Apep swallows the sun. Tiamat reclaims the waters. The BIP collapses.
This is always the argument.
The Transmission Chain
Tiamat/Apsu → Baal-Hammon/Moloch → El/Yahweh → Kronos/Saturn → Jupiter/Mars →
Christus Rex (Crusades) → the Nation-State (WWI/WWII) → the Market (oil wars).
Each link is a syncretism event where the devouring function
survives while the name is upgraded.
The Moloch-Kronos identity is explicit in Diodorus Siculus:
Carthaginian Baal-Hammon is the Greek Kronos.
The BIP is the final secularization: the god who ate children
now does it via fiscal policy and reserve currency.

The Eye That Never Closes
Apep is not defeated. He is contained — bound, pierced, burned — and returns
the next night. This is the precise mechanics of the Black Iron Prison: the system
cannot be destroyed because it regenerates from the same substrate it appears to threaten.
Every revolution that succeeds becomes the next Kronos. Every liberating god becomes
the next devourer when it consolidates power. Zeus is Kronos with better PR.
The question is not which face you are looking at. The question is whether you can
identify the structure beneath the face before the next syncretism event renders
it unrecognizable again.
The children are still being eaten. The altar is a spreadsheet.
The priest is a central banker. The fire is a barrel of crude at $75.
